Hi everyone. Does anyone know if there is any recorded material of Tommy playing with Dragon live?
Also I was wondering if he has played any songs using the classical tremolo technique? (tremolo picking a note with 3 fingers and playing lead lines with the thumb simultaneously). Thanks

Hi rockvirtuoso,

concerning your first question: There is a double live album from 1998 called "Good Vibrations". Actually, it's not a pure Dragon album but a recording of a tribute concert for Marc Hunter who was suffering from cancer back then. It's some of the finest Australian (rock) musicians like "Mental As Anything", Peter Garrett, Garry Gary Beers (INXS) playing Dragon songs together with band members and formers members of Dragon. Tommy is accompanying Jack Jones for the song "Nothing to Lose" with his Mouse and performs a nice solo guitar medley as well (Magic/Are you old enough) with his Tele, leading into the final song "April Sun in Cuba". Tommy once said he always loved that part of the concert in the old Dragon days back in the 80s.

This album his not easy to find. Check out Ebay regularly and you should have a chance to get it.

Regards,

Ingo

well they are all TE's age, but sadly I think that the lead singer died from cancer.

I can't find a website fro Dragon. Not surprising tho. They were pretty much extinct well before the techonological revolution

Dragon were great live. Tommy was just a pup, and I was even younger!! Saw them play at the Palais in St Kilda, can't remember what year that was.

I actually remember seeing Tommy & Phil play on "New Faces" isn't that scary!!

Saw Daddy Cool a few times, Little River Band, Skyhooks, Sherbet and many many others. Main claim to fame_ I saw AC/DC at the Box Hill Town Hall with Bon Scott the lead singer in early 1970something. It was a concert series sponsored by 3XY (where no wrinklies fly) It used to run during the school holidays. ACDC had only just put out a single, and were hardly known. Do any other old Melbournites remember that concert series?

Man those were the good times - when music was live. I hate to sound like my olds (and thats really old), but the youngins' today just haven't lived. Nothin like seeing a band live.

Hey cool Dougie. How amazing some one else remembers. I was beginning to think it was a abberation of memory. (Got my camera pinched out of my bag at that concert - then managed to get it back from the ***** that flogged it, a bit of a bitchfight, but I won because she was stoned!! Well it was seedy St Kilda!! Anyway, carry no scars and I doubt she remembers, probably isn't breathing now!

Never saw the DC at the Bowl, but saw ELO (bloody hell), Status Quo, Skyhooks, and (dare I admit it) Neil Diamond. Molly Meldrum was wandering the aisles at the ELO concert (also stoned) A bloke grabbed him and said" Molly I want to take your photo" and his friend stood there and pretended to take his picture - no camera - Molly just stood there-totally out of it. It was a scream! But then they say if you remember the seventies, you weren't there. One thing I remember about the bowl- not enough loos- I hate that.

Went to quite a few gigs at that good old grunge pile Festival HAll. People today don't know how lucky they are to see bands in such great venues, although I think the LAver arena is too big and noisy.

Anyway, I digress. At least your kid plays, mine have no interest unfortunately.

Oh, and I had a few boyfriends back then but none called Doug, but thanks for the thought!

Bon (almost deaf now due to exposure to loud music in youth)
