Hey Tommy! I just saw you on June seventh, this past Thursday, you were absolutely phenomenal. I'm Steve, the guy you met before and after the show! You let me play your wonderful Maton, which I cannot be more grateful for, and if you still don't remember me, I was the one that was crazy about Steve Howe! Anyway I just wanted to thank you again. One day, I'm going to be just like you, maybe one day we can tour live together when your'e 70 and I'm 30 ahahah, but I loved your performance and I'd love to play with, and for you anytime and anywhere.
From one of your friends/fans,
Steve :)

Dear TommyCGP...By the good graces of this venue, the scheduled programming has been pre-empted for another edition of.....hawk time.....Top of the news: Our observer meadowlark is happy to say she has been mightily distracted by a group of the tiniest of flying precious gems known: hummingbirds. Designated representatives from each of the nearly three hundred species have joined the growing number of bird nations in our hawk-led flight. Meadowlark was awakened from a bit of a nap by the whirring, buzzing sound of their wings. These irridescent, gleaming beauties live only in the Americas. Gram for gram they have great strength. They are aeronautical acrobats, performing any airborne maneuver you might name, including hovering, flying backwards, sideways, upside down (northern hemisphere) or downside up (southern hemisphere) ..;-)...They add their unique vivacity to the growing nations joining our hawk flight. Colors of gleaming ruby, lapis lazuli, amethyst, emerald, shades of gold and silver and browns with eyes shining like black diamonds, joining together as living ribbons weaving through this seemingly floating ever moving river of our bird flight, possible only by the grace of God. And the message of the music of the hawks moves ever onward toward the everlasting light. Try to build one bird. Hmmm. (There's a pun if you like.) Try to build a grain of sand. Enough said. Time is up for now. Station break time plus the necessary commercials, a part of the scheme of things. Our heartfelt thanks to this network ... +

Thank you Tommy
I know it cost you a hell of a lot
to have lived the life and made the music
but you have blessed our lives for it, and with it.
God bless

I attended your performance last night at the Carpenter Theatre in Richmond, VA. I cannot even begin to describe how incredibly amazing your performance was last evening. I am 22 years old and just graduated from the University of Virginia last year. Of all the shows I have attended throughout college, your show was by far the most memorable musical experience. I took my father with me last night as an "early fathers day celebration." He thoroughly enjoyed your performance. It is the first concert he has attended in many many years. It was the first concert we have ever attended together.
I have been playing the piano since I was 7 years old. I just recently began taking guitar lessons here in town with Jeff Lee Pike. He was kind enough to share your work with me for the first time.
When you said you are in the business of happiness, I must say you truly are.
Thank you for a lovely performance. You have made two more individuals very happy souls.
Cheers,
Kathleen Sink

Tommy,
Was part of the audience last evening at the Center Stage in Richmond and wanted to write and say how much I enjoyed your performance. My family has always had an affinity to guitar players. My grandfather was a classical player and a part of a group called the Mandolin Sextet. His claim to fame was that he was the first person to ever play guitar on a transcontinental radio broadcast. It was in the early 20's and on KDKA in Pittsburgh.
Again, thanks.

Tommy, my wife and I recently saw you on the first of your two nights at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, Pa, and I want to thank you for a truly memorable concert. I have seen you in concert approximately 12 times in three different states over the last 3+ years, and Thursday night's performance was the best yet. Each time I see you I try to bring someone new who has not seen you before, and as a result, you have many new fans. I already have tickets for 2 performances at the Surflight in Beach Haven, NJ in September, and for the Town Hall Theatre in NYC in July, and I'll be bringing 2 people who have not yet seen you. Believe me, I have seen some of the best - Satriani, Vai, Johnson, Gilbert, Morse, Lukather, Petrucci etc, and in my opinion, no one can begin to compare to the talent you possess. Beyond the talent, it is the emotional feel that you create in your music which is unparalleled. It is also very apparent that when you are on stage, you are not just going through the motions. You genuinely enjoy what you do and that comes across to the audience, making a Tommy Emmanuel concert the complete package. Thank you again and I anxiously look forward to the next concert. I might send you a request for one of the Beach Haven concerts as the date gets closer. Be Well

Dave

Hello,

Tonight I had dinner with Stan and Marilyn in Paris. Stan told me about how you "officiated" over his marriage proposal to Marilyn at your concert in New Jersey last year. It's a wonderful story and they are so enthusiastic about your music that I would love to attend one of your concerts if you are ever in France. Do you have any concerts planned here?

Thanks a lot,
Liz Hill

I was very sorry to have missed the show in Richmond(6/9/12).I've been a fan for a number of years and up until last year had been hopelessly unemployed for three years running.I simply couldn't afford a ticket. There was a time that I would have dropped $100 on a concert, but that time passed with that three years of being flat broke.I know I would have enjoyed the show,I just feel like I need $100 more than you do-maybe next year!
I can see it in your eyes when you play, there is nothing you wanted more than to play and make a living doing it.I've played for almost 40 years, but I didn't really pay much attention to"old people's music."When I fingerpick I feel like I have mittens on because my thumb disengages itself the second the melody gets going! It's going to take some work!!
