Hello Mr. Emmanuel

My name is Cameran Collins and I was contacting you about my Girlfriend and the love that she has for your wonderful guitar playing. Both of us live in Alabama, But she is moving back to her home land of China at the end of November. She keeps telling me how much she would love to see you but we lack the funds to do so seeing that we are in College. I care for her a lot and I would love if you could help us see one of your shows before she leaves.

Thanks
Cameran Collins

Dear Tommy,

Saw your show on sept 1st at Surflight in Beach Haven, NJ, and the master class as well on the 2nd. Thank you so much for continuing to come here. I live here year round and it can be a bit of a musical wasteland.

I've been playing for about 20 yrs, and have been in a bit of a creative rut. The master class really helped me to think about some different things, especially jazz chords and tone.

It was so busy I didn't have a chance to introduce myself, but I wanted to say when you said how you looked up to Chet Atkins as an inspiration and your hero, that's the way everyone in that master class feels about you, myself especially. Thanks for being such a gentleman and encouraging us; not all famous musicians are like that.

As for Kayden the boy phenom, I am chagrined that he could smoke me any day. I guess I need to go practice!

Thanks again,
Matthew Partrick

It's all true. Before February of this year, I had never heard of Tommy Emmanuel. Being a guitar player on and off since I was 11 years old (mostly off due to other life priorities), I thought I knew of most of the Masters....boy was I wrong.
At 54, not much catches my ear anymore. But during a chance stop on a PBS channel one night, I heard some of the purest guitar work I have ever encountered. So pure, it woke me from a light sleep and then I was transfixed by what I saw and heard.
I immediately made a pledge and received tickets to see Mr. Emmanuel in Norfolk, Va. last June. To say the show was "life-changing" for me is not an exaggeration.
Since then, I have seen him play in Phoenixville, Pa. (I took three young guitarists with me), Beach Haven, and N.J. (I introduced and took some of my oldest friends) and am making plans to see him play elsewhere this Fall. Beware; Mr. Emmanuel's playing and showmanship are extremely addictive!
I have purchase every CD and DVD of his I could find and cannot stop playing them. I can’t wait until some of the instructional materials I’ve ordered arrive. I know I’ll never reach the pinnacle Mr. Emmanuel has, but oh it will be sooo good for the soul to try.
I have also purchased many Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Merle Travis CD’s to name a few and they are well worn as well thanks to Mr. Emmanuel. Wow! How could I have gotten to this stage in my life without fully appreciating the genius behind these masters?
I'll try not to get hokie here, but I just can't overemphasize the effect Mr. Emmanuel’s gift and seeing him play has had on me. At all three shows, I have had tears in my eyes at some point. To see such a technically brilliant and soulful artist share his gift so eloquently and sincerely with his audience is awe-inspiring. One can immediately discern that he loves what he does AND loves to bring smiles to the faces of the people who come to see him play. Quite frankly, he has breathed new desire into me for the passion of making and sharing music, something I once had as a kid until life's challenges got in the way.
Thank you Mr. Emmanuel. I hope to meet you some day just as thousands of others do I’m sure, even for an instant, that would be my dream. Until then I remain extremely grateful to you for reawakening the passion that died in me so long ago.
Sincerely,
Bill Parks

I just saw you at Surflight Theater (2pm) this past weekend and you were wonderful. You did Caravan which, for some reason, made me wonder whether you ever tried doing A Night in Tunisia?

Hi Tommy,

It's not long back that I found you playing in you tube, but my gosh I've enjoyed all the vids I've found. Thanks for being such good inspiration for my own playing, or more like on practicing it. Your love for music shows and feels all the way over the world wide web through my laptop. Thank you for sharing it.

I heard from my instructor that you've already performed in Finland, but at that time I had no glue of the occasion. Is there any change seeing you here again? Don't make me wait too long, I'm over 50 already :D

Best Regards,
Harri

Hi Tommy,

Just letting you know some sad news. John Brommell died in a car accident yesterday at Coffs Harbour. They suspect he had a heart attack. It is such a loss to everyone who knew him. I felt you needed to know as you had also dealt with him over the years.

Cheers,
